What Photos Can I Send? This is of course the most important choice that you’ll make and the best advice is to choose a digital photo that is of the best quality. The portrait can only be as good as the photo.  The higher resolution the photo has, the better (anything over 1MB is fantastic). However, don’t fret. Some artists have worked with photos taken from mobile phones. Just keep in mind that the clearer and more in-focus your photograph is the better the portrait will be. The photograph(s) you send to the artist should be clear and sharp. Artists can only draw what they see, therefore if the details are blurry or of low quality, the pencil portraits will reflect this. However, when a high-resolution image is not available and the painting is based on a blurred photo, artists will often do their utmost to convey the likeness of the person(s).
